OCD & Anxiety Therapy in San Diego, California

Evidence-Based, Specialist Care — In Person & Telehealth for CA Residents

The Seaside Center for OCD and Anxiety has been helping San Diego residents reclaim their lives from anxiety, OCD, and related conditions for nearly 20 years. Our San Diego therapy office offers the same evidence-based, research-backed treatment our patients have trusted since 2006 — delivered by licensed psychologists and therapists who specialize in anxiety disorders, not generalists who happen to treat them.

Whether you're navigating OCD, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, Pure O, or another anxiety-related condition, you deserve a provider who truly understands what you're dealing with. That's what we offer

Formerly known as the Center for Stress and Anxiety Management (CSAM), we are now proudly serving the San Diego community as The Seaside Center for OCD and Anxiety.

Our Treatment Approach

Evidence-Based Methods: ERP, ACT, and CBT

We believe in treatments that are backed by decades of research — not trend-driven, not generic. At our San Diego office, our primary treatment methods include:
• Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) — the gold-standard treatment for OCD
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — helping clients build psychological flexibility
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — addressing thought patterns that drive anxiety
Our approach is direct, skills-based, and rooted in the understanding that avoidance makes anxiety worse — not better. We help clients learn to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort, not eliminate it.

Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)

PRT is an evidence-based treatment designed to help people reduce or eliminate chronic pain and other physical symptoms (e.g., IBS, CFS) by addressing the way the brain processes and interprets pain signals. Grounded in neuroscience research, PRT teaches clients to understand the difference between pain caused by structural injury and pain maintained by learned neural pathways, fear, and hypervigilance. Treatment often includes education, mindfulness, emotional awareness, and behavioral strategies that help retrain the brain to respond differently to pain sensations. Like ACT and CBT, PRT emphasizes a warm, safe, and empathic therapeutic environment while helping clients develop skills to reduce fear, increase functioning, and re-engage in meaningful life activities.

We offer individual therapy in-person in San Diego, CA and via telehealth throughout all other states except LA, MA, HI, NY, AL, OR, NM, and IA.

Meet Our Founder

Dr. Jill Stoddard, PhD — Founder & Lead Clinician

Dr. Jill Stoddard founded this practice in San Diego in 2006 with a single mission: to offer the most effective, evidence-based treatment available for OCD and anxiety. Nearly two decades later, that mission hasn't changed. Dr. Stoddard is a licensed clinical psychologist, published author of Be Mighty and The Big Book of ACT Metaphors, TEDx speaker, and host of a popular psychology podcast. Her work has been featured in The Washington Post, The New York Times, and other major media outlets. She brings the same depth of expertise to every clinical session that she brings to her writing and public work.

Telehealth & PsyPACT

Can't Come In Person? We Offer Telehealth Throughout California — and Beyond

In addition to in-person appointments at our San Diego office, we offer telehealth therapy for clients throughout California who prefer to meet remotely.

Dr. Stoddard is also a PsyPACT participant, which means she is licensed and authorized to provide telehealth services in most U.S. states. If you're located outside California, please contact us to confirm whether we can see you in your state.
