Jill Stoddard is passionate about sharing science-backed ideas from psychology to help people thrive. In addition to her role as director and clinician at SCOA, she is a professional and TEDx speaker, 3x book author, award-winning teacher, peer-reviewed ACT trainer, and co-host of the Psychologists Off the Clock podcast which ranks in the top .5% of podcasts worldwide. Dr. Stoddard received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Boston University where she trained at the highly regarded Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (www.bu.edu/anxiety) under the mentorship of Dr. David Barlow and Dr. Stefan Hofmann. She completed an APA accredited internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego School of Medicine. She is a standing-ovation-commanding speaker (ok, that’s only happened twice so far, but it’s her goal for every talk!) She specializes in evidence-based treatments for adults with anxiety and related issues and has expertise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy. Dr. Stoddard also loves coaching people on overcoming obstacles to reaching personal, professional, and health goals. She is the author of three books that have been translated into more than a dozen languages: The Big Book of ACT Metaphors: A Practitioner's Guide to Experiential Exercises and Metaphors in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Be Mighty: A Woman’s Guide to Liberation from Anxiety, Worry, and Stress Using Mindfulness and Acceptance, and Imposter No More: Overcome Self Doubt and Imposterism to Cultivate a Successful Career. She sees therapy clients in-person in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She sees clients virtually in all states except IA, MA, NY, OR, LA, AL, HI, and NM. She also offers virtual personal and professional development coaching worldwide. Brittany Flores is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with specialized experience treating OCD, anxiety disorders, trauma, and body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs). She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from Point Loma Nazarene University and has provided therapy across telehealth, outpatient, intensive outpatient, individual, family, and group settings. Brittany uses evidence-based treatments including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Habit Reversal Training (HRT). She has experience working with clients navigating obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, panic, phobias, posttraumatic stress, tic disorders, and BFRBs (such as Trichotillomania and Excoriation Disorder). Brittany is especially passionate about helping clients do the things that matter to them, even when anxiety, fear, intrusive thoughts, or self-doubt show up. Her approach is collaborative, compassionate, and gentle. She works with clients to better understand the patterns keeping them stuck, build willingness to face discomfort, reduce avoidance and compulsive behaviors, and reconnect with their values. Prior to joining SCOA, Brittany worked as an OCD Specialist providing ERP and ACT-based treatment for OCD and anxiety-related disorders. She also has experience supporting adolescents and families in substance use treatment, where she provided individual, family, and group therapy using evidence-based and family-centered approaches. In her spare time, Brittany enjoys trail running, spending time with her cats and dog, and exploring new matcha spots.
